Our company utilizes technology and automation.
Advantage for automated production is a good and even quality together with a minimum need of personnel. Training of our personnel, however, is equivalent to that of a large, modern production company.
Due to automatization Kovi Oy has moved towards more serial production and thus our product assortment has reduced. With product standardization both our production capacity and production efficiency have rise to a completely new lever. This is transferred directly to our clients whom we can serve even better.
Our main raw material is aluminium. The demand for aluminium has exceeded that of steel. We get the plates laser cut and drilled, thus the parts can be attached directly to the tank.
Robots do all welding on the surfaces, which guarantees good and even quality regardless of the welding point. Tank brackets are still made of steel but they are purchased from subcontractors laser cut and edged. Kovi Oy still bends the brackets into their final form after which the brackets are zinc heated.
Customer satisfaction is on of Kovi Oy´s values. Full participation is required in product development as well as customer service. Customer feed back is gratefully received and transferred into the use of production department as soon as possible. Kovi Oy contributes greatly into the cooperation with pump manufacturers, filter manufacturers as well as with body manufactures and end users. This guarantees that the end product is compatible in quality as well as in function with the total system to which the tank is attached.

In the future Kovi Oy aims to increase exports mainly to Scandinavian countries. Resale network is already established in Sweden. Kovi Oy is confident about the future.
Company history
2005 Kovi Oy is undergoing the change in generations.
2004 Kovi Oy received Entrepreneurial Honour Reward from the Kouvola Entrepreneurs Association. The owners Jorma and Irma Uusi-Jaakkola received badges of merit for 30 years as entrepreneurs.
2003 Company ends muffler manufacturing and decides to change into tank manufacturing. Aluminium has become more and more popular and learning the methods to handle aluminium form the ground to shift into using aluminium as raw material in production.
2001 Cold warehouse of 200 m2 was completed.
2000 Kovi Oy invested in new production facilities and started transformation into automation. Aluminium was chosen as an alternative raw material for tanks.
1999 The company ended sales of spare parts.
1998 After completing the expansion of office space the total warehouse space is 1000 m2.
1996 Company starts selling spare parts to heavy transportation industry.
1995 Company ends selling and installing mufflers to passenger cars. Company starts manufacturing mufflers to heavy transportation vehicles and machines. Steel tank production continued as a side product.
1994 Company was changed into Co.Ltd. Together with office space expansion the total space is now 600 m2.
1990 Kovi Oy purchased a production line from a bankrupt’s estate to manufacture mufflers, exhaust pipes and various steel tanks primarily to heavy transportation industry. A new estate was completed and Kovi Oy moved into Kouvola.
1988 Company’s line of business became selling and installing mufflers to personnel cars. The company rented space in Kouvola.
1974 Jorma and Irma Uusi-Jaakkola founded Kovi as a commercial name. The company installed paper industry machines in the Nordic countries.
